Concrete jungle or meeting the Flintstones

Animals are cute and adorable creatures (well, at least some of them), but there is a big difference between animal lover and animal groupie or even animal wannabe.  Animal print is such a no-no in fashion world, but why in Hell then we see it over and over again.

Dolce & Gabbana, Pre-fall 2010

Is it because of the whole going-back-to-nature mania? Do you wanna go back to the roots, are sure you wanna go back that deep?

Or may be someone doesn't know that so popular, nowadays, term  "urban jungle" ,"concrete jungle" - is just a metaphor, not an action plan for dress code.

Designers are not the most "down to earth" people, they create art (well,  at least some of them). Art should be concentrated in small portions, somewhere in the gallery, so you can look at  it only if  you want to.

But my guess is that invasion of Flintstones' characters  on the street this fall will make me "enjoy" this art  anyways.
"Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They are modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They are a page right out of history.

You'll have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
You'll have a gay old time."

Save a camel, put a dress on or the fairytale of horror

Today's topic is a perfect example of a fab trend turning into a fashion disaster. Let's look at the origin of the phenomena: all of us were a bit tired of skinny jeans, so designers decided to save us and introduced leather leggings.

GUCCI S/S 2010                      HAKAN A/W 2010-2011     VERSACE A/W 2010-2011

But, unfortunately, as we all know now, this  fairytale turned into the horror the minute after it left the catwalk and appeared in the streets.

Well, the first chapter of the horror  is called "Save the Camel", the idea is no matter who you are, how famous you are or how famous you think you are LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS and, please, leave camels with all their bodyparts in the desert, don't bring them to urban areas they won't survive.

(My favorite shot: leggings and UGG boots, fabulous!)

As the story goes second chapter is even more horrifying than the first one, it's about body cropping. I don't know who invented this torture, but it's definitely painful to look at. So next time when you decide to buy cropped leggings think about its secret meaning.

Overall the story is an excellent script for a movie: indescribably shallow victims, tons of suicides and evil villains, who are almost relatives to the good guys.

As the story started from the good guys like Versace, Gucci and Hakan who just wanted to make the world better (and earn a bit),  it is continuing with their evil twisted brothers-designers who want the world to suffer even more (and earn a bit too)

Loula Creates showcased her brilliant bright hand printed hosiery and printed leggings".

I would definitely use another adjective to describe these .... "brilliant" items for 100 pounds per piece!

So, do you still believe in happy ending?

UGGs - the curse against fashion and common sense

Yeah, yeah. I know it was discussed several millions of times, but really, WHY people wear those?  I guess, we need to thank miss Britney and Kate Moss for starting this epidemic, but do you remember how people responded to first Britney's appearance in UGG?

Everyone was throwing stones at her and found the look ridiculous, but what the hell happened with the rest of the world after?!

I still can't answer that question. At the beginning I was praying that this make-no-sense trend will vanish after a season and we won't think about it any more. But unfortunately, it is growing and parasites minds of weak and fashion illiterate humans.

Sadly, not only industry outsiders commit the crime. Look at the Louis Vuitton's Daisy Half Boot from S/S 2010.....

Do you want to know my first reaction?

"What the f... is that?"I believe those were the exact words of my "happiness and joy". A little detail to make it even more fun, 2 000 US dollars per precious piece of unique design. Thanks God not a lot of people can afford this "gorgeous" something.

Please, just don't tell me words like "but it's pink" or "they have the same in gold". I don't care if it's with flowers, diamonds or anything else. It's still UGGly.

Oh, and just to finnish on the happy note, I want to share with you my "excitement" about the new summer collection from the beautiful land of kangaroo. Enjoy...

It's just a beginning

So, I believe that everything in the world should have a purpose or shouldn't exist at all. The purpose of this blog is brutal and honest opinion about fashion, some sort of do and dont's. And by "brutal and honest" I mean literally brutal and honest.

I love fashion, I think it is a form of modern art, but some trends are just ridiculous, or some trends are fine, but people wearing them make them ridiculous, and when I am witnessing ( I have no idea if this word even exists) such unfortunate circumstances I want to scream "WHY???".

As an adequate human being I am also critical to myself, so at first I thought I don't understand something, but being in the industry for a while now I've realized that other adequate human beings in fashion want to scream "WHY?" at the same individuals in  the same circumstances that I do, so let see how will it go and welcome...
